86 With an area of 350 hectares, Schwerin Industrial Park offers the largest industrial site potential in the Hamburg metropolitan region. A further 180 hectares are available for the settlement of a wide range of industries. The industrial park is located on the southern outskirts of Schwerin, eight kilometres from the A 14 to Wismar or Magdeburg and 15 kilometres from the A 24 to Hamburg and Berlin. Dedicated freeway access to the A 14 is under way and will make the site even more attractive. The site is fully developed and is owned by the state capital Schwerin. The entire area is designated as an industrial site, with the nearest residential development 800 metres away. More than 1,000 jobs have now been created in the industrial park.
